Sea horse, Sharks, Rays and other Good Stuff
The highlight of the holiday - a Longsnout sea horse (Hippocampus reidi), about 10cm tall, at Northern Exposure.
A Southern Stingray (Dasyatis americana) at Kohani.
And another at Gary's unnamed reef.
Off in the blue, a Great Barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) swims past at Gary's unnamed reef.
A school of tuna or mackerel of some sort swim past in the blue at Purple Sand.
A Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) at Purple Sand.
And another at Windmill Shallows.
This is normally all you see of a Nurse Shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum), sleeping in a hole under a coral outcrop at Shark Reef during the day.
But then your diveleader reaches into the hole, grabs the shark by its tail, and pulls it out for us to see. Unimpressed, it swims back into its hole...
...so it can get back to sleep.
A Spotted scorpionfish (Scorpaena plumieri) beside the Veronica L wreck.
Whitespotted filefish (Cantherhines macrocerus) at Purple Sand.
A Queen triggerfish (Balistes vetula) at Purple Sand.
