Grenada 2014 - Sandals La Source

The quiet, western end of the beach where we tended to laze.

View from the top of the Pink Gin buildings, looking west along the beach. Neptunes is the thatched building between the beach and the Main Pool. The buildings at the top left are not part of Sandals La Source - the previous owner of the hotel lives there with his family.

The Main Pool, with The Living Room behind it to the left: a combined bar, seating and entertainment area. The balcony of Spice's restaurant is at the back, below the clock tower.

Weddings and other events are held on the two piers that protect the swimming areas.

The Watersports Centre from the same pier. It's after 5pm, so it's closed. The right-hand end is reception and a shop, the centre section is a hanging room for BCDs, wetsuits etc, and the left-hand end is staff quarters and workshop. Beyond that (not visible in this photo) are rinse tanks, showers and WCs.

Shahim told me that Oprah Winfrey owns this promontory and the grey-roofed buildings on top of it, and is having a massive luxury villa built overlooking the ocean.
