Photos of the hotels, the walking and the wildlife
Day 2: The village of Chapelle-des-Bois with the Hotel Les Mélèzes in the centre.

Day 3: The Auberge du Grand Gît in Chaux-Neuve.

We don't make these names up, honest....

Day 4: Linda pulling on her boots outside the Hotel les Sapins in the picturesque village of Longeville-Mont-d'Or.

The inhabitants of Longeville really made the village look pretty.

Longeville High Street.

The supermarket in the High Street.

Très rustic.

Day 5: Up in the mountains at last. The view from the Mont d'Or ridge.

Along the Mont d'Or ridge.

Lots of ski runs under Mont d'Or.

Chamois crossing the path just in front of us at the top of the ski-lifts under Mont d'Or. There was a group of about eight which spent an hour watching us as we ate our picnic lunch at a table outside the wooden hut at the right of this photo.

The long day ended at the Hotel de la Couronne in Jougnes.

Day 7: The Hotel le Tillau, in splendid isolation near the Swiss border.
